Unleashed are forever grateful for the possibilities which owning our own building provides both the charity and the wider community. However, the reality of what is required to improve the standards and safety of the property is something that remains at the forefront of our minds and one of the most destructive elements in its current state, is the poor standard of certain sections of the roof.
Due to decades of poor maintenance and ‘quick fixes’ there are several sections which allow for leaks and flooding which is causing continuous damage to the interior and require prompt repair. Any money you give is greatly appreciated and applications will be made to funding partners to match fund any donations, ensuring all money raised goes as far as possible.
Just some of the areas of concern are:
‘Tunnerised’ roofing, a bitumen covering added to a ‘failed’ roof in order to make it temporarily water tight. It appears that this ‘temporary’ measure has been in place for over a decade and has long passed it life cycle. Original sections of the failed are now exposed and extensive water damage is evident inside the main building therefore the whole roof section needs re-tiling.

Flat roofing which has failed and needs replacing, with missing lead where it meets pitched roofing sections along with failed or missing safety railing.
